With all that excitement and many non-sober people around you, it can be hard to manage everything. We share some helpful tips to keep focused on your journey, and still enjoy the variety of events happening.
Ways To Stay Sober During Summer Season in Boston
- If going out to an event (bbq, birthday, wedding, work events, etc) or simply enjoying the harbor out with friends, try to hang with at least one sober buddy! This will make it easier to feel comfortable amidst the chaos.
- If you are around people drinking, have a game plan if someone offers you a drink, and have an exit strategy if you start to feel uncomfortable.
- Make sure someone in your network (sponsor or friend) knows you will be going out to enjoy the summer nights in/around the city.
- Set clear boundaries for yourself about when you are heading home (right after the event, no extra hanging out), and contact your network/people to let them know you made it home safe!
By keeping these 5 tips in mind you can enjoy all the fun, and keep sober! After all, sober is the new sexy...
